GuangHe Or Qianhai Joint Law Office Hosts Cross – Border Legal Lecture on Indonesian Ship Arrest and Enforcement 2 July 2026
On 2 July 2026, Guanghe Or (Qianhai) Law Firm hosted a Cross – Border Legal Services Lecture in Shenzhen Qianhai as a key highlight of the four-day visit by the Indonesian BIL Law Firm delegation, led by Dr. Hugo Chan and Mr. Daniel Or.
Three experienced practitioners shared practical insights from their respective jurisdictions:
- Eddy Isworo presented on Indonesian Ship Arrest practices, stressing the importance of early engagement of local counsel and precise timing of applications.
- Huang Sufang reviewed the framework for recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards in Mainland China under the revised Arbitration Law, including grounds for refusal under the New York Convention.
- Daniel Or discussed asset investigation and cross-border enforcement in Hong Kong, covering third-party disclosure orders, asset freezing orders, and enforcement pathways for Mainland judgments and awards.
The lecture underscored that effective cross-border dispute resolution requires a coordinated chain of preservation, enforcement, and asset tracing. With its strategic Qianhai base and close collaboration with Hong Kong and Southeast Asian firms (including BIL in Indonesia), the joint office is well-positioned to support Chinese enterprises in multi-jurisdictional matters.
